The IAF is an organisation grown from an informal group of interested individuals with a wide experience in agroforestry, and recently formalised into the IAF. The IAF is a company limited by guarantee. We are in the process of further registering as a charitable organisation. We have a small board of directors to oversee the operation of the Forum. In addition we have a Committee/Advisory Support Group that meets periodically and who are listed under the teams section of this website. They are made up of farmers, foresters, agroforesters, researchers, college staff, other NGO representatives, Teagasc and the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine.

We expect to fund the organisation through a mixture of streams: memberships, overheads from active projects, donations, business sponsorship and through various other public and private funding opportunities. Our first project is an Agroforestry Education and Promotion project funded under the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine Woodland Support Scheme.
